Legal requirement from July 6th 2009 as per Safety Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) regulations 2008 amendment.
Construction Regulations require that certain construction workers carrying out safety critical tasks must complete CSCS training. Please note that all personnel using pipe and cable locators i.e.: CAT & Genny fall into this category.
UDE Ltd provide both private and public courses. The maximum number of attendees is 8. Candidates who successfully complete the approved CSCS Training & Assessment programme are awarded QQI certification and are eligible for a CSCS registration card. CSCS Location of Underground Services course is a 2 day programme.
UDE Ltd also carry out locator specific (RD7000, RD8000 Series) operator training courses and CAT & Genny refresher training courses. Courses are Half-day duration. Our qualified trainers are highly experienced in using cable and pipe locators in a wide range of situations and industries.
Maximum number of attendees per course is 8 for the operators courses.
A typical programme for a half- day course would be:
• Reasons for using locators – both safety and financial.
• Theory, covering both the benefits of the system, and as important, the limitations of the technology.
• Practical work – hands-on locating using receiver, transmitter, and accessories.
• Feedback, questions/answers, application & techniques, general care and maintenance of the equipment.
